Hamon's poem, narrated by the angel Roald:

You are never Alone

“Today an angel called me by name.
Lilac wind, in my face, laughing at this game of love
I’m playing with you. Come with me to the beginning of your life.

“Stay, free in this grace, remember the day we flew
to see how far, how high, you could go. How far you went!
What is it about angels that pinch us awake, take us to travel everywhere?

“I’d bet my angel is with you now, seeking your permission
Fly with me now, above the world. Over life itself, we could
hold hands, if you want, see it all disappear below the clouds.

“You don’t remember when we met.
Lilac wind, in my face, laughing at this game of love
I’m playing with you. Come with me to the beginning of your life.

“And look at it through new eyes.
Take off your face. See how it spins as it falls below the clouds
Leaving us open to each other. To play. Together. To fly. To freedom.

“That’s what you wish for, after all
is it not? Hear as never before. And look, what’s this?
Yes! With your eyes off, you can see I am the angel at your side.’
